My, those words look delicious . . .

It’s a good thing, too, because I’m about to eat them.

Last week, I let my ego get the best of me and got cheeky about what I thought was a sure thing: the Crusaders beating the Chiefs. I don’t feel that bad about being wrong, though. I’ve gotten used to it over the years. And being wrong is okay at Leaguist. We encourage you to make a pick. Whether or not the team wins, at least you gave it a go.

Now, as for making an ass out of yourself, well, that’s something you don’t have to worry about at Leaguist. Unless you decide to start a blog and blab to the whole of the internets how “sure” you are.

Oh well. I’m still coming in 2nd. Boo ya! How ya like me now!?

Don’t forget to pop over to Leaguist and make your pick for this week’s games.

Good luck, friends.

Yeah, you can change your pick

For those who don’t know this, you can change your pick any time before the game begins. So I’ve just changed my Leaguist pick in the upcoming Super 14 game between The Crusaders and Chiefs. I was originally picking The Crusaders to win by between 7 and 11 points. It was a safe pick, I thought. The Crusaders are currently undefeated; they’re running 8-0, so why not pick them? But then I suddenly had a change of heart. I remember watching a few Chiefs games and recalled the level to which the Chiefs rose in their 5 wins and only 3 losses. And then there are the Chiefs’ supporters, who are every bit as fanatical as those down in Canterbury (some might say more so). These things gave me pause, so I logged back into Leaguist and made a change.

Picking Crusaders to win by more than 12.

Beat us at the ANZ championship, it’s easy!

Clearly, James and I weren’t make to pick the scores of the ANZ championship. Even with the great previews and analyst by the dropkicks, we’ve crashed and burned on the leaderboard.

So nows your chance to join up, easily beat us and rub it in.

Hello sports fans!

We loaded up some new settings on Leaguist yesterday, and of course launched this place today.

So what’s new at leaguist?

When you forget to make a pick, Autopicks can now be be based on the away team by maximum points, who everyone thinks will win or what your friends are picking. So now the choice is yours, the chance of max points, the wisdom of the crowds or do you trust your friends?

Timezones! For our friends far and wide they can now see what time games are played where they live, instead of the server.
